Meribel Property Market Report – Summer 2023
6th September 2023 | Meribel
Coming to the end of the summer season in Meribel, and with preparations for the winter ahead starting to come together, Emily Liggins our Meribel expert will give you an insight into the property market here in Meribel and the surrounding villages.
It is the start of September, after a beautiful summer season and the property market in Meribel is starting to get busier. When I say busier, this is both with more property coming onto the market and with enquiries increasing across the resort.
Over the past few years, the property market in Meribel has really been a seller’s market with very little property available and therefore higher prices and demand to reflect this. This is now starting to change, with a more balanced climate making it a great time to buy.
Properties coming to the market are more varied in both size and price, especially in the previously unrepresented lower end of the market and the luxury end of the market. This is shown in both the listings we have on our website, but also the properties we have for sale off market. Please make sure you get in contact if you are looking to buy, as even if you do not see a property you like on our website, we will likely have something in our pockets that could be of interest.
Meribel as a resort is starting to change and improve. The town centre has been undergoing large developments and regeneration over the past few years with some outstanding new build apartments and chalets being constructed by new and old developers in resort. As a result, the quality of property available has increased dramatically.
That being said, the traditional renovation project a lot of buyers are looking for is now few and far between. We have a corker that’s worth a look if this is of interest, but properties like this are very rare now.
With the ever-increasing challenge of property prices increasing in the heart of the resort, more buyers are considering the surrounding villages of Meribel. Meribel Village specifically is an incredibly hot market at the moment, but with connections from villages such as Le Raffort, Les Allues and Le Cruet only improving these areas are hugely up and coming.
Overall, we head into the winter season of 2023 with a more promising outlook of the season to come. Make sure you keep in touch with us at Free Spirit Alpine to keep your finger on the pulse in Meribel, and across all our resorts.
