Why buy a new build property in Val d’Isere? Our expert guide

18th April 2025 | Val d'Isere

New Build developments were once a rarity in Val d’Isere. However, luckily we are in a period where some very high quality projects have been launched and we have a superb portfolio available.

Our expert Alex gives us her reasons why buying a new build property is often a very smart decision:

  • Prime locations: Our new developments are often replacing some of the oldest original hotels or buildings in resort – meaning they are being built in perfect positions in the centre or ski in ski out locations. This is good for your enjoyment and great for future capital growth
  • Your bespoke property. Unlike resales, you get to choose the interiors, with kitchens, bathrooms and decor that you like from the start. Modern and bespoke, this is very definitely your home in the mountains
  • A Turn key purchase – Most developments offer a specially tailored furniture package that will kit out the entire apartment from beds and sofas down to kitchen equipment and cutlery! On delivery day you can turn up with a suitcase and you’re good to go and the property is rental ready
  • Peace of mind – being a new build, the development will be covered by the builders 10 year building guarantee.
  • The amenities – new build developments often have extra amities within the residence that you wouldn’t necessarily expect in older style buildings. Ranging from large luxury ski rooms and 24 hour concierges, to swimming pools, fitness suites, restaurants and spa areas. The added extras really help make a ski holiday and maximise any rental returns
  • Last but by no means least, on many of our developments a fully managed rental service gives you the financial advantage of being able to claim back your VAT on the purchase price, meaning that your budget will go that extra bit further!
