Team Success at the Snow camp 3 Valley Rally
21st April 2023 | General
Free Spirit Alpine were delighted to compete in the AJBell 3 Valley Rally to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Snow Camp, and raise vital funds for their work with vulnerable young people across the UK.
The event took place over two days of fierce competition in Val Thorens, with 24 teams competing against each other to raise the most money for Snow Camp and win the overall competion
Free Spirit Alpine’s team consisted of Meribel agents Colin Mathews and Emily Liggins, Val d’Isere agent Tessera Swallow and Courchevel agent Dave Morris.
Roared on by team ‘Guru’ Free Spirit’s MD Andrew Beale, the team took part in events covering the two days, including ski orienteering, Biathlon, Team Distance Challenge, Snowshoe Hike, Zip wire Challenge and the big one, the Team Parallel Slalom Race
After some valiant work in very difficult conditions, the team lay in third place after day one – all to play for on day two and the team distance challenge and parallel slalom
Day two opened with some much needed sunny weather and improved visability, and the stage was set for some extremely competitive skiing.
It was neck and neck going into the final event, the team slalom. Here, the team navigated their way through the pool stages, before beating all opponents in the knock out rounds
One last push and a superb performance in the final gave Team Free Spirit Alpine the win
A nervous wait until the final closing nights dinner and awards ceremony, where the points for all the events would be added up. Team Delancey were worthy winners of the award for the most amount fundraised – a truly wonderful £22,215. In total over £320,000 was raised for the event and more is needed, see our justgiving page here and please do donate:
